■Established on March 28, 2003, Zhejiang Jinxi Economic Development Area was officially approved to be one of the provincial development zones in April 2006. It has jurisdiction over three townships, namely, Tangxi, Luobu and Yangbu, with a coverage of 171 km2, and a population of nearly 100, 000.
■As one of the major industrial bases, Jinxi poses itself as an indispensable part of the “a center, two wings and two triangles”, which represents the overall developmental strategy of the City of Jinhua. It aims at an emerging modernized industrial city that is mainly based on industry but supported by tourism and trade. ■At present, three zones are under construction and development: the 3.1 km2 startup zone is nearly completed; the 4 km2 northern zone is mainly designed for textile and manufacturing with an aim of turning into the largest textile manufacturing base of Jinhua; the 3.85 km2 eastern zone is on the list of the experimental units for non-agricultural development in loess-hill areas in Zhejiang, and is made up of four industrial blocks: craftwork, ornament, automobiles, motorcycles and their accessories, and small commodity and technology.
